Diet Talk: GNC Total Lean Shakes & Smoothie/Shake Recipes Under 200 Calories
So I love making smoothies and using them as meal replacements, especially when I am on the go. I would make them the night before and pop them in my freezer if I know I'm not going to have time the following day and grab them on my way out the door. They are also really great as a pre-workout meal.
So I decided that I had to share the recipe with you all. I hope you try them.
Definitely let me know how they come out and if you tweaked them at all so maybe I can give it a shot.
FRUIT SMOOTHIE USING INDIVIDUAL BAGS OF FRUIT
-1/4 cup of each fruit (2 pieces)
(pineapple, peaches, mango, strawberries)
-1/2 small banana
-1 tbsp. oats
-3/4 cup Tropicana 50 Orange Juice
-1/2 tbsp. honey
-1/3 cup of spinach
Calories = 200....(182 if you minus the oats)
Fat = 0g
Carbs = 39.8g Fiber = 2g
Protein = 2g Sugar = 40g
FRUIT SMOOTHIE USING MIXED FRUIT BAG
-8 pieces of fruit
and the rest of the recipe stays the same
Calories = 181...(162 if you minus the oats)
Fat = 0
Carbs = 22g Fiber = 2g
Sugar = 27g Protein = 3g
VANILLA PROTEIN SMOOTHIE (9-10 ounces) (Use Blender)
-1/2 cup of vanilla Almond milk
-1/2 cup of water
-1/2 medium banana
-Dash of cinnamon
-1 scoop of GNC vanilla protein powder
-Ice (5-8 cubes)
-2 stevia or 2 equal
Calories = 138 Fat = 3g
Carbs = 16g Sugar = 8.2g
Fiber = 2.5g Protein = 13.5g
And if I decide that I don't feel like going through it and making my own, I turn to my good ole GNC Total Lean, Lean Shakes which come in three different flavors (Strawberry Cream, Vanilla Bean and Chocolate). It retails for $9.99 per 4 bottle case, but if you become a gold card member (free) then you get 20% every month for the first 7 days of each month bringing it down to $7.99 per case. They also come in a case of 12.

A proud member of Jumpstart
When I heard about Jumpstart during the spring semester at my school I was so intrigued. It is volunteer work, working with preschool children and preparing them for kindergarten teaching them how to read and doing our best in helping to close the achievement gap.
For the past few weeks we have been doing training but after next week me and my team will officially be in the classroom and I am so excited because I am an aspiring English teacher so this will definitely help in preparing me for when I am a teacher.
Ashanti is Jumpstart's spokesperson this year which is amazing and Tommy Hilfiger is our sponsor

My Jamaica Trip: Robbed at Gun Point
Yes everyone you read the title correctly.
While I was in Jamaica visiting my family I was robbed. I remember the day as if it happened a few hours ago.
It was July 27th a little after 3 in the afternon. Me and my cousins and bro decided to go to the beach not too far from our house and when we were leaving a guy ran up on me, my brother and my cousin as we were washing sand off of our feet to head in the car. He had the damn gun pointed at me the whole damn time because I was the one with the jewelry on. I always wear a gold necklace that i recieved from my mom when I was little, my earrings, a ring, and two bracelets ALL THE TIME...it's a norm for me, I surely regretted that day though after having a gun aimed at me and my necklace snatched.
The person or shall I say people (yes it was planned) were caught within a few hours thouugh but this was definitely a lesson learned, take my jewelry off when going to the beach in the West Indies.
This does not turn me away from my country though, it's my place of birth and my family is there. I just think of it as it could of happened absolutely anywhere.

Makeup Forever HD Foundation #180
A few months back I purchased the Makeup Forever HD Foundation in the shade 180. I have been wearing this foundation and this foundation only for these past couple of months and I must say that I am loving it.
PROS:
*The bottle has a pump ... who wouldn't love that, you get to control the amount of product you use so none would go to waste
*It's Breathable ... I love the fact that my skin is able to breath under this foundation and I don't feel as if I am wearing any.
*Full Coverage ... I know that it is said that this makeup is medium converage but I personally believe that it is full and with one coat I am good to go.
*Plastic Packaging ... I don't know about you but I tend to break things that come in glass containers.
*Variety ... There is a variety of shades for women of color, Thumps Up to Makeup Forever.
CONS:
*The only con that I have is that this tends to make my face oily after a couple of hours. I don't generally have oily skin but ever since I started wearing this foundation I have noticed that my skin has gotten oily and I have blot throughout the day, I've never had any issue like this with any other foundation.
At the end of the day I really like this foundation and i believe that it is worth every penny of the $48. This brand of makeup can be purchased at Sephora.

What a good day: Back On My Weight Loss Trip and this time it's going to work.
GOOD DAY everyone and yes it is a very good day. Today i decided to stop my bullshiting and really get back on track with my weight loss for a healthier and happier me. This morning i said fuch waiting until monday comes, I'm always saying I will start on monday and like that famous quote states "Why put off for tomorrow what you can do today" and that shit is so true...so i'm on it. This morning I started off with a healthy before workout snack (the worst thing you can do is workout on an empty stomach) and a glass of water. I worked out for 20 minutes (not much i know but its a start) and then had another glass of water (btw, i flippin hate water).
So now I am feeling great and my day is going great, sometimes working out in the morning can really set the pace of your entire day.
I have also created a chart that i keep on the back of my door of the days of the month and I've created a set workout schedule of 4 times a week. I also will only weigh myself twice a month, once at the beginning and then again at the end of the month and in between time my scale will be put away so there won't be any temptation to step on it, and my Wii board needs batteries so there will be no urge to step on that either.
Im also not going to go around saying oh i can't eat this or i can't eat that, I'm gonna eat, but with portion control. I love cake but I don't intend to have cake all the time, thats something i can treat myself to once a month. I also plan on still continuing to eat out but order something healthy from the menu and if it's large portions eat some at the restaraunt and carry the rest home. It's all about portion control, drinking water and working out. I've done this before and I will do it again.
One of my friends also followed this and she went from a size 22 to a size 12 in a year. I can do this, I know I can, and I will. I know that it will not be easy, i've proved that to myself time and time again, but i refuse to get knocked off the horse and stay off, i'm going to dust myself off and get right back on it again.
Wish me luck!

Shoes-a-holic Buy: Sperry Top-Sider Biscayne Leopard Boat Shoe
I strolled into the new DSW on 34th street in Mannhattan and stumbled across the Sperry Top-Spider Biscayne Leopard Boat Shoes and fell madly inlove with them, unfortunately for me they sell out of stock in a lot of sizes extremely fast. So when they got new shipment I called and had two different sizes put on hold because I wasn't sure which one was going to fit...Yesterday I went and picked my size up walked around in them for a bit and fell even more inlove with this shoe.A lot of people are head over heels for leopard print this season so I thought I would share this with you guys just in case you haven't seen them.
They also have different animal prints as well as different colors. I've put a few links below just in case anyone wanted to check them out.

Drifted Off Track
First, I want to start off by saying that I feel like straight crap, I have drifted so far off my weight loss mission its unreal. However, I am determined to get back on because I need to lose at least 15-20 pounds before July 15 and that's my minimum. The problem is though I don't know how the hell to get back on my mission, I have absolutely no drive since I started my spring semester at school to deal with anything weight loss related. I'm sure that I have put back on some of the weight that I have previously lost, how much, I can't say because my mother hid the scale from me and my Wii board is in need of batteries...so I have no idea how much a presently way and frankly I'm a bit nervous to find out.
